Permissions by User

The CPS application has several user roles.  Individual users are assigned roles.  A national data steward can assign users to state roles.  A state data steward can assign users to local roles.

National User Permission Levels

Five levels of National access permissions exist and these can be configured to be on or off in any combination for all three National roles using the permission manager on the Home page:

• Manage Practices [ add, edit, delete, authorize states, and publish national practices in their specific code ranges only ] view state practices

• Manage CSP activities [ undefined at this point ] (NOT YET IMPLEMENTED)

• Manage reporting units [ edit these units only on a Practice ]

• Manage national narratives   [ add, edit, delete national narratives only ]

• Generate reports [ access all reports and filter criteria from reports link ]

State User Permission Levels

Three State access permissions exist and can be configured to be on or off in any combination for the single role by  using the permission manager on the Home page:

• Manage state practices [ add, edit, delete, and publish state practices in state specific code range only, view list and add standards detail to any authorized practice in this list

• Manage state narratives   [ add, edit, delete state narratives only] + view national narrative

• Generate reports [ access all reports and filter criteria from reports link ]

Local User Permission Levels

Three Local access permissions exist and can be configured to be on or off in any combination for the single role by  using the permission manager on the Home page:

• Manage local practices [ select from a list authorized by the state & view this list of practices authorized for this specific local and add standards detail and practice in this list ]

• Manage local narratives   [ add, edit, delete state narratives only] + view national narrative

• Generate reports [ access all reports and filter criteria from reports link ]

Data Viewer Permission (NOT YET IMPLEMENTED)

Once Data Viewer access permission exists and can be configured to be constrained to Local, State, or National data for the single role by using the permission manager on the Home page:
