Permissions by Role
There are several roles defined for Conservation Practice Standards.
The National Conservation Practice Data Steward has the ability to create, maintain, and authorize states to use national and interim practices and practice narratives within a specific range of practice codes. National practice codes ranging from 300AA to 699ZZ and national interim practice codes ranging from 700AA to 799ZZ are maintained by the National Conservation Practice Data Steward.
The National Conservation Practice Data Steward serves as the business area expert regarding decisions concerning the management and use of the data. The National Conservation Practice Data Steward also designates and establishes access within the CPS application for State Data Stewards.
The National Conservation Activity Data Steward has the ability to create, maintain, and authorize states to use national practices and practice narratives within a specific range of practice codes. National practice codes ranging from 0 to 299ZZ, 800 to 899ZZ, and AAAAA to ZZZZZ are created and maintained by the National Conservation Activity Data Steward.
The National Reporting Data Steward has the ability to select whether the Standard or Alternate Reporting Units will be used for reporting purposes when an Alternate Reporting Unit exists within the practice.
State Data Stewards have the ability to create and maintain state specific practices and narratives. The State Data Stewards also maintain the state practice list of national and state practices, and state narratives. State practice codes ranging from AL210 to WY299 are created and maintained by the State Data Steward.
Local Data Stewards have the ability to create and maintain a county specific practice list and can rename practices to local terminology, and can create and maintain local narratives.
Data viewers have the ability to view practices and narrative reports.
